New year, New team!
By: Ashley Sinclair, Marketing Director, Kernersville Chamber of Commerce
The New Year brings with it such a wonderful sense of possibilities at the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce. Behind the scenes here we are feeling especially excited for 2022 as President Chris Comer is introducing four new team members.
Tacy Burdette focuses on Membership, Amanda Ruark handles the Finances, Ashley Sinclair manages Marketing and Events, and Lisa Hedgecock serves as our Executive Assistant.
Tacy comes to us from BB&T/Truist where she worked in the Legal Department. She moved to Kernersville in 2000 from Greenville, South Carolina, with her husband Joseph. They have two beautiful children, Sean (wife Jazmin), Allie and Grandson Zachary, along with their dog Koda. She will serve as our Associate Director of Membership and Business Development to ensure members get the most value of their Chamber Membership beginning with a free Member Experience event. (Call to reserve your spot!)
Amanda previously worked with Kernersville Soccer Association and Piedmont Triad Football Club as their Head Registrar/Office Manager for the past eleven years where she gained most of her experience to help her in her current role with the Chamber. Amanda is originally from Belews Creek and has two beautiful kids Reid and Reanna, along with her dog Remi. She will serve as our Director of Finance, Tourism, and Economic Development to steward the Chamber’s resources to create the most positive results possible for our businesses and community. She brings an exceptional amount of knowledge in QuickBooks and finance.
Ashley's love for local businesses began when she was in High School and had the ability to work as Interim Executive Director for the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in May of 2020. She began looking for a Chamber of Commerce to call home and when a position opened at the Chamber she jumped at the opportunity. She is originally from Clinton, North Carolina and now resides in Archdale with her significant other Trevor and their two fur babies, Piper and Blu. Ashley will serve as our Marketing Director of Programs and Downtown. She brings an exceptional amount of marketing, graphic design and event planning experience to help her in your current role here.
Lisa worked for the WSFCS system at Glenn High School as the Administrative Assistant. She grew up in Kernersville and has been happily married to her husband Dwayne, for 24 years. Together they have two wonderful children, Montgomery and Landon. They also share their home with three very spoiled dogs, Lacey, Poppy, Deacon, and their most recent addition Mickey. Lisa is our Executive Assistant and wears many hats and has many responsibilities at the Chamber. She is the one you hear when you call us and the one you see when you walk in the door. She brings an inviting smile and warm laughs to make for a friendly welcome to the Chamber.
As President Chris Comer notes, “The Kernersville community continues to grow, and we are delighted to continue to serve our great town with a full staff!”
Other benefits for members in 2022 include event sponsorships, member experiences, networking events, committee involvement, e-blast advertisements, ribbon cuttings, business social events, chamber website calendar, etc. the list could go on!
